Shell loses in Dutch court’s ruling on four Bayelsa oil spillage victims

The Court of Appeal in The Hague today ruled that the Nigerian arm of the British-Dutch company should compensate the four farmers and undertake a clean-up of pollution from leaking oil pipelines.

The payment being compensation over oil spillage in Bayelsa in 2008 wherein the four farmers from Oruma in Ogbia Local Government Area had their farms affected and thus instituted a case against Shell.
